Extended Rearfacing or Forward Facing

I turned my daughter just before she turned 3 when she out grew the height rf of her car seat. My goal was to make it til 2 and any time after that was bonus. Just in case you didn’t know, straps shoukd come from below the shoulders when rf and above the shoulders when ff.

Your kids are completely buckled wrong her straps should be below for rear facing and his shoulders be above shoulders for forward facing.

If you want a good extended rear facing car seat. The graco extend to fit car seat address the problem your having with Hudson by giving a slide out leg extension. Allowing the Hudson to rear face up to 50 pounds. The American academy of pediatrics recently amended there recommendation from rear facing until two, to rear face as long as possible. So you are right on track. Hope that helps!

just wanted to mention the pink seat in your husband’s truck, for rear facing the straps need to be at or below shoulders. for ff the straps need to be at or above, which with the cosco it won’t last long because the straps are low. I can’t tell but it also looks like the forward facing seat is not top tethered. I’m a car seat tech and randomly found your channel and have subscribed because I like your other videos.

I see people mention as the straps but I would like to mention that crossing his legs is perfectly acceptable. Feet touching the seat is not an indication that a child to too big to rearface and there is no concern that it will damage his legs in the event of a crash
