W Caris says:

Hello, I have been using this stroller for my baby since she was newborn (july 2014) and **** I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS STROLLER****.
There are good things and bad things I can say.
The good thing is that it folds automatically which is great if you have to collapse it several times a day (going grocery shopping, walking the dog, etc). For the first 6 months (with the bassinett) it all worked fine and I was a postergirl for 4moms Origami (“yeah it is as awesome as it looks, let me show you”).
But after using it more frequent I have to say that the worst thing is that it is high maintenance:
1. You can’t take it on a plane (I spoke with 4Moms in the Netherlands and many people had their screens broken down/literally and technically and replacing the screen costs 750 euro! I kid you not).
2. You have to charge the stroller quite often (at least more often than I would have thought), it charges while you walk but that isn’t enough, by far. If you keep the lights in the front on, the battery runs out very quickly. The lights though, are very handy. This is something I didn’t think of when I purchased the stroller. But it offers great visibility for you to see in a dark park or street at night (especially in Dutch winter time) and cars and other people can see you very well too (handy on those dark canals).
3. The screen with temperature and other information is just a gadget, nothing more, nothing less. I like gadgets but this technical part makes the stroller vulnerable. When taking care of a baby you don’t want to spend time fixing problems with a stroller, something that should be hassle free! There is so much coming at you, reading manuals about what a certain error code means and what to do (many times!) is not something I want from a gadget. It feels like taking care of an unwanted Tamagotchi or Furby – really. Luckily I have bought an extra stroller in case my 4moms is out of battery or has error codes. Came in handy a few times to be on time for my appointments. Conclusion: I don’t feel the stroller is very reliable (the battery sign wasn’t low, otherwise I would have charged it the night before).
4. Another negative aspect: the stroller (at least mine 2! specimens) are really heavy to push around. You will need both hands to push the stroller forwards (that would be my main concern if I were to buy a new one: one hand push should do it), it could be due to the design of the handlebars or the weight of the stroller (with child and bags it is definitely harder to push around). 5. The storage space is not easy to reach in to (when your kid is older you need storage space to put their jacket away if the sun comes out e.g. Now I hang them over the car and look like a bag lady, I’ve seen other strollers that have huge and easy accessible storage space). Furthermore, through the mesh in the stoarge space, mud and water can get onto your luggage.
6. The handle bars are very low,, especially when you carry a lot of weight in it,. Besides they are made of a material that quickly gets dents in it (makes your 1200 euro stroller look cheap).

I’ve had many technical problems with both my 4moms origami strollers. I got a ‘new’ (though I assume: refurbished) stroller to replace the first one within the 1st year. But don’t think it was because of the warranty! I bought my stroller in Dubai and apparantly (no-one tells you; it is hidden somewhere in small print in the manual!) the warranty is invalid if you move to another country. Haha and what is Dubai? Expat country 🙂 So after intense contact with 4 moms HQ USA they told me to take the offer from the people in Dubai to replace my stroller (350USD shipping costs for me to pay to send it to the Netherlands…) and after using the 2nd stroller with technical unfolding problems and a wheel that is always riding the opposite direction (good biceps training though) I have to conclude that this stroller is not something I would recommend anyone buying.

After all the hassle and negative response from 4Moms HQ (fb contact) I don’t feel confident they take complaints or malfunctioning strollers serious. So I don’t bother complaining about the 2nd stroller not working either. It will be a waist of my time. For my 2nd child I just have to buy a new one I guess (obviously not 4Moms brand).
Even though my time is just as precious as anyone else’s I do like to spend it to warn other people to do more research before buying this stroller. Ask people who have been using it for a few years (not unboxing or using it a few months) and take their response serious. If only I had listened to a friend of a friend who couldn’t recommend this stroller either…

Eduardo de la Garza says:

where do you buy that hooks to hang the diaper bag please tell us! 🙂

Angelica says:

Lol, ugh noooooo. This is way toooo much for a baby. Company’s are getting ridiculous. I paid the same price for mines. It’s a lot more practical and the safety is top notch. I wouldn’t trust this stroller. I guess this is for the techi parent, who would enjoy this everytime.

Dari Nikolova says:

The origami isn’t a bad stroller but it has a lot of negatives and for sure positives.
Now we use the Stokke Xplory V5 and I’m surprised how comfortable it is.The only think I miss in the stroller is the automatic folding.
The worst stroller I have ever used is the Quinny Mood
Hope you like your stroller

thesparkle8 says:

I have the stroller and with my second baby, I’m considering the basinette. Do you have to remove the basinette to fold it up?
I wish the regular seat had a tray add on. That’s my only complaint
