2014 Mercedes E Class Child Seat Review

Have you been wondering how well three child seats fit in the back of a Mercedes E-Class? How about two child seats and an adult? Check this video out and watch as I see how child compatible Mercedes’ mid-sized luxury sedan really is. Be sure to watch out for the full review on the E-250 diesel sedan coming up tomorrow!

Could I know the maximal width of the child seat?

Thank you for providing a realistic rear headroom test video. For headroom test, a real person should sit strait, make the head touch the headrest, move head left-right a little. Consumer Reports figures by their manikin are not helpful. ’12 MB E350: 3.0 inch CR figure.  ’10 Buick LaCrosse CXS V6: 3.5 inch CR figue. In my actual test, the MB had by far more rear headroom than the Buick.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for the video. Very useful. I am currently driving BMW X5 E70 30d and I am actually looking at the mercedes E220 Estate and the review with the child seats is really useful – i am just thinking if there is a point of swapping – my X5 is 2007 and the consumption is on a higher side :-). Well, anyway I would actually love to see how the bigger car seats would fit in to this car – I have 3 kids, 7, 5 and 1.5 years old, so I have 2 bigger car seats with Isofix and one similar to the you presented. I will definitely try to see the car myself anyway and dry fit the seats.
